Acquired Brain Damage

DEAL works with people with Acquired Brain Damage. 

After suffering trauma in accidents or through stroke many people finish up with speech and language difficulties. These can often be assisted with AAC therapy and devices. People with acquired brain damage, as opposed to people who have had their conditions since birth, generally have the advantage that other people are not so quick to put their difficulties down to mental incapacity.

When someone with acquired brain damage uses DEAL's services we assess the person's current communication, advise them on communication options, and arrange for them to obtain those that best meet their needs. One client's story: Penny
